Male Issues - What is Retrograde Ejaculation? - Your Questions Answered

You may have heard of retrograde ejaculation and wondered what it is? There are many different kinds of ejaculation disorders, and while this is one is not as common as premature ejaculation, it is far from being rare. Here are the technical details about this condition.

What is it?

Retrograde ejaculation is when you reach orgasm and very little or no semen comes out. The semen goes into the bladder instead of leaving the penis.

Cause

This condition occurs because the muscles or nerves that are in control of opening the bladder has been affected in some way. Some things that can affect the muscles and nerves are surgery that has taken place in the area, health problems and medications. Some of the health conditions that may be at cause include an injury to the spinal cord, multiple sclerosis or diabetes.

Symptoms

Within ejaculation occurs the normal amount of semen to be present is about a half a tablespoon. If there is much less than this amount, or none at all, then it is either retrograde ejaculation, or you are not producing enough semen. There is no pain or any kind of discomfort associated with this condition, just a lack of semen.

Diagnosis

In order to get this condition properly diagnosed it will be necessary for you to visit your doctor. He will examine your urine after ejaculation to see if it contains any sperm. If it does not contain any, then you may have a problem producing enough semen, which is a completely different issue.

Treatments

The treatment will be dependent upon what is causing the problem. The easiest solution can be found when the man has been taking a medication that causes it. In this case, simply stopping the medication should reverse the condition. In other cases of retrograde ejaculation, certain drugs have been known to correct this problem. Many of these drugs, however, may also cause side effects. There are also natural treatments available that are available without a prescription that may be able to help with this problem.

When to seek treatment

It is a good idea to go to your doctor right at the beginning in order to rule out any medical cause or condition that may be causing the problem. In many cases the physician will advise you to leave it untreated because it is not harmful and does not carry any long-term risks. In the event that you are trying to impregnate a woman you may want to go ahead and get treatment.

Retrograde ejaculation is usually a problem that is not dangerous in any way, and may not require any treatment at all. Age often plays a factor in all ejaculation dysfunction problems, as do health concerns and injuries. Search out medical treatment if you want to be reassured that everything is fine. A few simple tests are all that is necessary for you to receive an answer. For more articles like this, visit www.CausesofMaleImpotence.com
